DENVER — Do you enjoy working with the public and protecting Colorado’s landscapes and wildlife? Join our team at Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). Get your boots dirty with us and protect 43 world-class state parks, 350 wildlife areas, more than 960 wildlife species and 23 million acres of public lands.
At CPW, we're not just hiring state park officers and district wildlife managers. We're looking for passionate individuals who will play a vital role in our mission to perpetuate the state's wildlife resources and provide quality parks and outdoor opportunities for all.
Applications are live now through Sept. 30, 2026.
CPW staff will send links to the written exam, a writing prompt and background check materials to applicants shortly after the application period closes. The next step for those who score well on the written exams is to participate in an online oral panel held from Oct. 14-16. Those who do well on the oral panels will complete a polygraph exam and physical fitness test. The final Executive Management interviews will be hosted Oct. 29-30.When you begin as a CPW officer, you begin a program that rewards hard work, determination and commitment. As part of the Step Pay Program, new officers enter a new phase of training and a pay increase each year for their first three years. This training and pay structure offers a clear, standardized path to a rewarding career protecting Colorado’s people and natural resources.
